Spiderman Birthday Party Theme

1:01 AM | Publish by Nish's

Spider-Man is one of the most popular characters from the world of comics. Kids love spiderman and want to be him. Well then it is the best thing to have a spiderman party and give the kids an opportunity to be their favourite character.
There is also this site called www.kideo.com from where you can purchase the I am Spiderman video they superimpose the child's face throughout their Spiderman movie so your child will be Spiderman. It is an amazing thing to make the kids watch this video in your party with your child being the spiderman.
Ideas for making the card

Take a picture of the birthday child wearing Spiderman costume. Get that picture printed on the front of the invitation cards. You can use a post-card.

You can use black construction paper and paint it like a spider web with white paint. Get a spiderman picture approximately the same size of the spider-web or smaller  from a near-by store or you can take a print-out online (cut off the extra part). Write the party details on the back of the picture or back of the spider-web (with white paint). Get both the web and spiderman laminated. Stick the spider-man  on the web with a two-sided tape.

Poem for the Birthday Card

Hey Spidey-fans! Get ready for some spine-tingling, action-packed adventure with your favourite wall-crawling super hero!!!
Spider-man is on a mission to let (birthday child’s name) friends know they are invited to his 5th birthday celebration at (venue), on (date), between (time).
So get ready to swing on for some heart-pumping, web-slinging and wall-crawling birthday fun!!!
Call us to say that you'll hang out with us at (phone number)."

Gifting ideas
You can gift a spiderman kit with spider-man stickers, spiderman high bounce ball, spiderman bag, spiderman themed crayons, pencils, colouring books, puzzles, etc…

Decoration

  1. Best colors to use for your Spiderman birthday party decorations are red, blue, green, yellow and black. Print images of the Spiderman characters, and tape them to the fence. Make a balloon arch by tying red and blue balloons to a kite string about 12" apart. (Alternate balloons so you have a nice theme pattern).
  2. Use a white table cloth and hang red and blue colour streamers all over it.
  3. Make a spider-city. Use boxes and paint them silver, place them in a line like buildings infront and back, use ropes to decorate that wall and stick a lot of plastic spider all around.
  4. You can stick a large spiderman poster on one of the walls or hang it in the middle of the venue.
  5. Hang spiders from the ceiling. Use black kite-string as their webs.
  6. Make lots of spider webs out of cotton in your backyard, and attach plastic spiders.
On the Arrival

  1. Make spiderman eye-masks for the kids out of white paper. Set up a painting corner and let the kids paint their spider masks red. Get one of the adults to help the younger ones make a black web on their mask. Let the kids write their names on the back of their masks. Keep them aside for drying. Give the kids their mask as a thank-you note.
  2. You can also get ready-made spiderman masks and give the kids as soon as they enter so that they can enjoy their spidy party. You can also click a picture of the guests with the mask and email the picture to the kids with a thank-you note that says, THANK YOU so much for coming. Having you there made my year.

    Fun Games
    1. Stick the Spider On Spiderman Game: This game is played just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. With a sheet of poster board and a permanent black marker, draw a spider web. Make small paper spiders with construction paper, or plastic spiders. Use glue dots (craft store) or double stick tape to attach the spiders to the web. Blindfold the kids and let them stick the spiders on the web in just 1min. The one who has maximum spiders stuck wins.
    2. Spiderman's Web Walk: Just like a cake walk with webs!! Cut circles from poster board. Use a permanent marker to draw spider webs. In the center if each web write a number 1-3. Make corresponding number cards as well. To play: Place the webs in a circle. Play Spiderman theme music (or any fun music) and have the children step from web to web. When the music stops, draw one of the numbers from a bag. The players that are standing on the webs with that number, get a sticker or candy. Play this game several times until every player has received a treat.
    3. Sandman Art: You'll definitely want this activity outdoors and in play clothes only! Fill a few large plastic tubs with fine sandbox sand and water. The children can play in the sand to create objects over and over again. Just lie at the beach...if you add plenty of water, the sand mixture can drip through their closed hands, or use cups to gently pour the wet sand.
    4. Crime Wrap: Divide the kids into teams of threes or fours. Hand each team a roll of toilet paper. Give the kids a minute to decide who, in each of their groups, will be the criminal. To start the game, call "Wrap 'em", and watch the teams race to wrap up their "criminal mummy" using every bit of toilet paper. The first team to finish wins!
    5. Spider Catch: Hide plastic spiders throughout the party area. Leave some completely visible, so they act as Spider Man party decor. At game time, explain to the kids that some of spiders have gotten loose from a research lab. Instruct the party guests to search for and collect the spiders.
    6. Spiderman Movie: Purchase the movie on the web address mentioned above and let the kids enjoy.
    7. Fearless Crawler Course: The kids can get a taste of what Spiderman deals with using a creative obstacle course. Set the course up, so the children have to: walk along a narrow board, jump over a pile of trees, run around chairs, etc. (If playing indoors, use such objects as small table, wastebasket, pile of toys, etc.) Line the kids up in single file. One by one, have them run through the obstacle course while you time them with a stopwatch. The fastest child wins!
Food Ideas for the Spiderman Theme
Spiderman Cake: Order a spiderman cake.

Spiderman Cup Cakes: you can order these spiderman cup cakes from amazon.com.
Noodles/Pasta in red sauce or American Chopsuey: Noodles in red sauce or red-sauce pasta. You can check the American chopsuey recipe on my blog.
Jellied Chicken: Check the recipe in my blog. Am sure the kids will love it.
Spiderman Pizza: Make cheese pizza and spread the ketchup like spider web.

Candy-Floss: Arrange for a candy floss machine and make white candy floss for the kids.

Apple Juice: Healthy apple juice would be the best.

    Moti Pulao (Veg/Non-Veg)

    11:29 AM | Publish by Nish's

“Moti Pulao” what attracts me to this recipe is it’s name. We Ladies love jewels and so as the name goes  woman are bound to get attracted to it… ;)
The speciality of this pulao other than its name is that it can be made as a vegetarian as well as a non-vegetarian dish. Again there are many pulaos that can be made that way like our very own veg and non-veg biryani, but the moti pulao can also be altered by using fish instead of the mutton mince. It can be best eaten with raita along with tomato soup.
     Ingredients
    For the Non-Veg Motis
    ½ Kg Mutton Minced Meat
    2-3 Green Chilies (Chopped)
    10 Stalks Coriander Leaves
    1 Beaten Egg
    Ghee for Frying
    Salt to Taste
    Silver warq
    For the Veg Motis
    50 Gms Paneer (Cottage Cheese)
    2 Tbsp Cashewnut Powder
    1½ Tbsp Cornstarch/Cornflour
    Oil to deep fry
    Silver warq 2 sheets
    For the Rice
    1 Cup Rice
    5-6 Tbsp Ghee
    2 Cups Water
    2 Onions (Choppped)
    1’ Piece Ginger
    ½ Tsp Sugar
    10 Stalks Coriander Leaves
    2 Bay Leaves
    3 Green Chilies (Chopped)
    ½ Tsp Turmeric Poweder
    1 Tsp Coriander Powder
    ½ Tsp Chili Powder
    Salt to Taste
    A Few Strands Saffron
    For Garnishing
    2 Onions (Chopped)
    Oil as Required for frying

    Method

For the Non-Veg Moti: Grind the minced meat very finely and mix the ingredients except the ghee. Shape into round marble sized balls. Shallow fry in ghee till brown. Cover these balls with silver warq.
For the Veg Moti: Grate/mash paneer. Add cashewnut powder, cornstarch and salt. Knead into a smooth dough and roll into small balls. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry on medium heat till light golden brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper and keep aside. Cover these balls with silver warq.
For the Pulao: Wash and drain the rice. Heat ghee in a pan and lightly fry the rice for a minute, stirring continuously. Add ½ tsp salt and 2 cups water. Cook on slow fire till almost done. Cool.
Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan and fry the chopped onion till brown. Add ginger and sugar. Add all the other ingredients upto salt in the pulao side and fry for 2 minutes. Add the rice and mix gently. Crush the saffron in little milk and mix this to the rice. Add little water, cover and cook on slow flame till the rice is completely cooked.
For the Garnishing: Heat oil and add the onions. Fry till brown and crisp. Drain. Use for garnishing on top before serving.
Serve hot in a platter with the rice topped with the motis and garnished with the crispy onion fry.

Hint: You can add vegetables like carrots, peas to the pulao as per your taste. You can use fish meat instead of the mutton minced meat too.

    Shrek Birthday Party Theme

    10:17 PM | Publish by Nish's

Shrek is one of the favourite characters of young kids. He is huge, tall and big and as we all know all the kids love to be big. Shrek theme is wonderful and will be delight for everyone.
    Ideas for making the card

You can take cream coloured construction paper and cut it into a square/rectangle cut the borders randomly in a zig-zag manner, as we all know that ogers are messy so let the card look a bit messy. You can burn the corners slightly to give it an old look with old English writings in dark green or brown colour. Place it in a brown envelope.

    Poems for the birthday card
    1. In a land far far away, Little X is celebrating his/her birthday on (date) at (venue) between (time). Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and Dragon will be there, hope to see you too!!!
    2. Come to the land of Far, Far Away with Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss-n-Boots and Dragon, for a fun-filled Shrek Birthday Party!!!

    3. Hang green streamers all over the place, on the walls and ceiling.
    4. Get a shrek dress on rent and make one adult wear it and entertain the kids.
    5. Use a bright yellow colour table cloth and run green streamers down it.
    6. You can call the local appliance store to request an empty refrigerator box to make a Shrek house or outhouse for the children to play in at the party. Coat the exterior with spray paint at least a week before the party and decorate it with features from the building in the movies. The dragon's castle where Fiona was held captive is an alternative for a girl's party. String up brown paper streamers adorned with 'swap moss' using yarn, dried peat moss, balloons or paper leaves. (You can also use empty big cardboard boxes to make the house).

You can welcome each guest by giving them this shrek head-band.

    You'll Need:
Large sheets of light and dark green Craft Foam
