Winnie the Pooh Theme

Ideas for making the card
To make the card, you can use a brown crane basket. Place two yellow balloons on the sides of the basket or one balloon in the centre of the handle. Decorate the basket with red and yellow ribbon. Let the size of the balloons be as per the basket. You can order bear shaped chocolates or make them at home and put a pack in the basket. Along with it place a card with pooh picture, if you are good at drawing you can select any pooh picture and draw it on paper with the invitation poem on the back-side or in the centre of the card.
Well the rest depends on your budget. You can fill the basket with balloon packets, do a little hunting in the near-by malls and select pooh stuff for kids.

Poems for the Birthday Card
  1. Our little X is turning two! Celebrating in the Hundred Acre Woods for a fun Winnie the Pooh Birthday! “Hurray”, shouted Piglet, “Hurray”, shouted the tigger, “Hurray”, shouted Pooh. So Winnie the Pooh and friends are going to be there for sure and I hope so are you.
  2. Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood where Winnie and his friends play, you'll find the enchanted forest where we will celebrate X's first birthday! Join Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga and Roo, Rabbit, Owl and Piglet too! On (date) at (time), address, RSVP to Mr.xyz at (rsvp number). Come and fill your rumbly tummy.
Gifting ideas
Get a pooh towel.
Winnie the pooh beach ball.
You can have a Winnie the pooh gift basket with pooh erasers, pencils, stickers, letter-pad, pencil-box, crayons, etc.
You can gift pooh puzzles.
Hunt the shopping malls and try to find some exciting return gifts.

Decoration
Decorate the party place like a jungle with tall trees and green grass. Have balloons of yellow, brown, pink, red and green with yellow being the maximum.  Hang posters of pooh friends. If you have a big pooh stuff toy place it at one end of the venue. Have pooh friends stickers hung all around the place so that kids can pull out the stickers and put them on their wrist, hand or cheek.
In addition if you could hire a pooh dress and have someone wear it and cheer the kids it would just be great.

On the Arrival
Get a Winnie the Pooh booklet and let the guests fill it with their names and good wishes for your little one.
Set up a colouring corner for the kids. Get printouts of pooh and colours and let the kids colour while waiting for the other guests to arrive or in their free time.

Fun Games
  1. Gummy Bears: Fill a jar with gummy bears and ask the kids to guess the number of gummy bears. The one closest gets the full jar. This could be played with the adults too.
  2. Get your Veggie: Make medium sized vegetable printouts(like carrot, radish, lettuce, beetroot, etc) and scatter them on the floor. Play the music and when the music stops everyone has to pick up one veggie in their hand. Keep making the veggies lesser in number and the one who has the last veggie wins. You can play this game with adults too.
  3. Tigger Toss: Get a blanket and a tiger stuff toy. Let the kids hold the edges of the blanket and toss the tigger up in the air.
  4. Find the Honey: Get honey candies or toys for the kids and attach them to one side of the yarn strip. On the toys or candy write the guests names and ask the kids to hunt down their names and take the gifts/candys with their names home. Hide the candy’s behind furniture like sofa, tables etc and leave the other end of the yarn outside.
  5. Tiggers Parade: Hand the kids with tambourines, maracus, bells etc and let them dance on pooh music.
  6. Story Time: End the party with a pooh story. Get all the 1-4 yrs olds and tell the pooh story. For this you will need a big adventure story book of winnie the pooh which can be easily available at any book store.
  7. Drop the candy in the pot: Place a big pot (you can paint it brown and yellow from the top looking like the pooh honey pot) at a distance. Ask the kids to aim a candy/ice-cream stick in the pot. Give each child 7 chances to aim. The one who gets most candy sticks in wins. This can be played with adults too.

Food Ideas for the Pooh Theme
  1. Cake: Order or bake a Winnie the Pooh cake.
  2. Tacos would go well for pooh party.
  3. Spicy Honey Potatoes: Honey is the main ingredient for the pooh theme therefore a dish with honey is essential. You can get small pots and serve spicy honey potatoes in it. http://bohra-gourmet.blogspot.com/2011/07/spicy-honey-potatoes.html
  4. Cup Cakes: you can decorate the cup cakes in a bear face.
  5. Bear Biscuits: Biscuits with a bear face is also a great idea. Make use of honey, marbles, chocolate sauce, etc
