This chutney goes the best with the main course. It is healthy chutney. The chutney also adds a lot of visual appeal with its vibrant colour, adding that little bit of extra impact to your dish.
Ingredients
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Red Onion (Chopped)
500 Gms Beetroot (peeled and diced)
400 Gms Tomatoes
3 Tsp Dark Brown Sugar
4 Tbsp Vinegar
¼ Tsp Cloves (Crushed)
¼ Tsp Coriander seeds
¼ Tsp Caraway seeds
1 Bay Leaf
180 Ml Water
Method
- Heat oil in a frying pan and add onion and beetroot and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, coriander seeds, ground cloves, bay leaf, caraway seeds and water. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes or till most of the liquid has evaporated.
- Serve cold or warm.
