Bread Halwa / Pav No Halwo

Bread Halwa is a famous recipe among most of the Indians. The wonderful part about this sweet dish is that it is made quickly, easily and ofcourse is extremely tasty as I always say no point in cooking quick if it doesn’t taste good.

Another reason for me to like this dessert is because there are usually kids who dont like eating the bread borders and also when we make the bread pattice we end up wasting a lot of bread by cutting the corners… you can use those bread corners and make this wonderful dessert.

Ingredients

3 Tbsp Ghee
1 Pack Bread
1 Cup Milk
1 Cup Sugar
3-4 Elaichi (Powdered)
Almonds to Garnish (Cut in Slices)

Method

  1. Cut the Bread pieces into 6.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the bread pieces for about 2 mins.
  3. Make sure you dip all the pieces in ghee.
  4. Add the milk to the ghee stirring continuously.
  5. Add sugar, elaichi powder and keep stirring.
  6. Stir till the liquid evaporates and it turns into a thick halwa.
  7. Garnish with almond slices.
  8. Serve hot.
