This tarkari recipe is the most easiest, fastest and tastiest of the gravies.
Murghi Ni Tarkari is a very common way of making chicken among most of the chicken eaters.
Among bohri’s I think this is the kind of recipe that would be most appropriately regarded as the basic recipe in cooking. Just like the beginning of a language is done through ABC beginning of cooking chicken is done with this simple recipe… but am sure it will be the most cherished and unforgettable… You would hardly sing The ABC now but you will want to make this chicken all the time…J
Ingredients
1 Full Chicken
1 Cup Oil
2 Onions
1 Capsicum
2 Tomatoes
2 Potatoes (optional)
3 Green Chillies
1 ½ Tsp Coriander Powder
½ Tsp Red Chili Powder
½ Tsp Turmeric Powder
2 Tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
1 Tsp Kari masala Powder
Freshly Chopped Coriander for Garnishing
Method
- Wash, peel and cut the onions and potatoes.
- Wash and chop the green chilies, capsicum and tomatoes.
- Heat oil in a dekchi, add the onions and mix on medium flame.
- When the onions turn pink, add the green chilies and capsicum and mix.
- When the capsicum is soft, add the ginger-garlic paste and mix.
- Add all the dry masalas when the ginger-garlic paste is mixed well. Cook for 1min and add the tomatoes.
- Keep stirring till the oil separates on medium flame.
- Add the chicken and mix.
- If adding potatoes, add them now.
- Add ½ cup water. Cook till done adding water if needed.
- Add the kari masala and mix.
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice or chapati.
